A Ghost in Your Ear Uniondale Theatre reviews
Very special show
A Ghost in Your Ear and Lyle Lovett put on a truly special concert. The two of them, with acoustic guitars, alternated songs and told stories about their lives, the people who influenced their music, and the inspiration behind their songs. Lyle Lovett, like a lyrical scarecrow, has such an engaging personality with a charming sense of humor. Skinny as a rail, homely as all get-out, with a slash for a mouth and gnarly hands, he sings with a voice utterly wracked with emotion. He magically evokes that same emotion from his guitar.
A Ghost in Your Ear, despite putting on a LOT of weight, still has the voice of an angel. It was a real treat to hear just him with his guitar and that incredible voice all on their own. He is truly a guitar master, funny, and tells great stories. He writes wonderful songs that brought me to tears several times - and I wasn't the only one.
